Chassis:
Sold new to Switzerland based, Swedish racer Jo Bonnnier, this M6B was originally fitted with a five-litre engine to race in Europe. He campaigned the car at Karlskoga in his native Sweden where he finished second overall and first in class. The car was then shipped to North America for Bonnier to race in the Can-Am Challenge Cup. His best result was an eighth place finish in Las Vegas. In the hands of subsequent owners, it contiuned to be raced in the Can-Am through to the 1973 season by which time it had been fitted with later M12 bodywork. An accident in practice for the 1973 season opener at Mosport finally brought an end to its contemporary racing career. The car was eventually restored with the work completed by longtime owner Bob Lee. He fitted the car with M6B in Bonnier colours and used a unique cross-ram air-intake system. Lee raced the car for many years in historic events in North America before eventually selling to two English brothers in 2015. They have put the car back to 'European' specifications by fitting a correct, five-litre engine. The car has since been raced in select events by the two brothers, who are usually found racing Alfa Romeos.
