Chassis:
Painted Rosso Chine over Pelle Nera, this 250 GT SWB was sold new to American enthusiast Walter Sheppard through Luigi Chinetti. Although it changed hands several times, the car remained in the New York area through to 1975 when it was sold to England. The new owner was singer and record producer Eric M. Stewart, who also an avid Ferrari collector. Chassis 4037GT then passed to another major Ferrari collector, Dr. Carlo Bonomi, in 1981. He campaigned the car extensively until selling it on to José Manuel Albequerque in 1994. He also raced the car as did the subsequent owners. By 2006, it was sold to American actor Nicolas Cage. It remained in his ownership for two years and it then returned to Europe once more. The most recent owner consigned the matching numbers and Ferrari Classiche certified to the 2019 Goodiing Scottsdale Auctions.
