Chassis:
According to Simon Moore's 'The Legendary 2.3', which lists every chassis produced separately, the featured Touring bodied 8C 2300 was likely one of the four Works entries for the 1932 Mille Miglia. The short wheelbase or 'Corto' 8C was sold immediately after the race and campaigned in Italy for another couple of years with modest success. In 1935 it was sold to England where it remained for many years. It was raced into the 1950s, although in heavily modified form. In the 1990s the car was bought by the current owner, who had it completely restored to its original 1932 configuration. He has since campaigned the car at a large number of events on both sides of the Atlantic.
