Chassis:
Completed in the fall of 1954, this Pinin Farina bodied 500 Mondial was sold new to American privateer team owner Tony Paravano. It debuted with a class victory by Bob Drake at Willow Springs in February of 1955. It was also raced by Bruce Kessler and Pat O'Conner for Parravano before being offered for sale early in 1957. It was acquired by Mexican Javier Valesquez, who was the organiser of the Mexican Grand Prix. He raced the car in select events and would retain the car through to the early 1970s. The 500 Mondial then joined the stable of Ferrari collector Robert N. Dusek. Chassis 0448MD remained in this stable for nearly three decades. During this period, he used the car in vintage racing. Sold at auction in 2000, it has rarely been seen since. In more recent years, it was fully certified by Ferrari Classiche.
