Chassis:
Finished in Dubonnet with a black leather interior, this car was the official factory demonstrator. In June of 1961, it was sold to legendary record breaker Donald Campbell, who remains the only person to hold the World Speed Record both on land and water. He only owned the DB4 GT briefly, selling it on in November of 1961. During the next 30 years, it had a further nine owners until it joined the stable of a German collector in 1991. During this period, it was regularly raced and campaigned by many of the successive owners. Between 1995 and 2001, it was comprehensively restored by Swiss specialists Max Wetzel and Roos Engineering. After nearly three decades of single ownership, it was consigned to the 2019 Bonhams Goodwood Revival Auction.
