Chassis:
Pressed into service halfway through the 1997 season, this GTR-1 debuted at Las Vegas where it qualified second but eventually finished a delayed 29th. It was fast in qualifying in the next two races but only managed to score a win at its fourth attempt when David Brabham and Eric Bernhard won the SportsCar GTS race at Laguna Seca. It was not used again until the 24 Hours of Le Mans the following year. One of the works entries, it was fielded for David Brabham, Andy Wallace and Jamie Davies. Starting eleventh on the grid, it finished the race seventh overall. Following Le Mans, it was retired from contemporary racing. It eventually joined the stable of a French enthusiast, who also owns one of the sister cars. Both were brought out for the 2019 Dix Mille Tours where it competed in the Endurance Racing Legends races with great verve.
