Chassis:
One of the first 911 Carrera RSR 3.8s built, this example was completed in April of 1993. It was delivered new to Otto Altenbach, who had the car fielded by Obermaier Racing in the ADAC GT Cup. The Carrera RSR 3.8 is believed to have made five appearances before it was retired from contemporary racing. It was subsequently sold to a Japanese collector. In more recent years, it was repatriated to Germany where it received a comprehensive service by specialist Freisinger Motorsport. It then changed hands again in 2016 before being consigned to the 2019 RM Sotheby's Abu Dhabi sale. At the time of cataloging, the RSR 3.8 had less than 15,000km on the odometer.
