Chassis:
Completed late in the summer of 1955, this D-Type was delivered to its first owner, Alex McMillan in September. It was finished in pastel green and road registered TKF 9. McMillan debuted the car at Silverstone in October, winning three of the four races. It was then raced by McMillan and subsequently Henry Taylor with continued success through to the end of 1957. Ahead of the next season, it was acquired by the Scottish Border Reivers team for a very young Jim Clark to race. He raced the car extensively that year, scoring 12 victories in 20 starts. He also placed 8th against newer sports racers at Spa-Francorchamps. Following its contemporary racing career, it was halfway converted to XK SS specifications and subsequently raced in historic events. Sold through Duncan Hamilton in the late 2000s, it has since been in the stable of a England-based, Brazilian racer.
