Chassis:
One of the very last two-cam 275 GTBs built, this long nose was fitted with all the desirable options. These included six-carburettor intake system and a torque tube driveshaft. It is estimated that just 40 examples were built with both these performance upgrades. Finished in white with a tan leather interior, it was also fitted with an external fuel filler cap by the factory. It was delivered in the fall of 1966 to its first owner, Pier Luigi Perri. By the end of the decade, it had made the almost inevitable move across the Atlantic courtesy of American Ferrari distributor Luigi Chinetti. During the early 1970s, it changed hands several times but since 1975, it has had only had three owners. All of the car's custodians have cherished the 275 GTB and as a result, it has survived in remarkably original condition with 81,000 km on the odometer. In the summer of 2020, it was consigned to the Gooding & Co. Geared Online sale complete with all of the original documents and tools that came when the car when it was delivered new in September of 1966. It sold for just over $3 million, briefly making it the most expensive car sold at an online auction.
