Chassis:
The original custodian of this 507 Roadster was HRH Prince Constantine II of Greece. Registered for the road with the plate '36', it was fitted with a Nardi steering wheel and a Becker Mexico radio. Sold on by the Prince in 1961, the rare BMW remained in Greece until it was acquired by its long-term custodian in 1989. It was in a relatively poor condition, which prompted a three-year, 300,000 DM restoration at the hand of marque specialists Martin and Erwin Brummer. Since the work was completed, it was extensively used in rallies and gatherings like the Mille Miglia and Tour Auto. With 55,000 km on the odometer since the restoration, it was consigned to headline the 2020 Bonhams Zoute sale.
