Chassis:
Not used during in 2007, this RS Spyder started the 2008 season as a spare for Penske Racing. It was pressed into service after one of the team's cars won the Sebring 12 Hours and was retired. Raced for the remainder of the season by Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas, it won its class at its St. Petersburg debut. Later in the year, it won the Salt Lake City race outright and also won the LMP2 class at Mid Ohio. Returned to Porsche at the end of program, it was then displayed in the company's museum in Stuttgart. Still on the button, it was demonstrated at a variety of events since its retirement from contemporary racing.
