Finished in a striking gold with a beige interior, this covered headlight 250 GT Cabriolet was shown at the 1958 Earls Court Motor Show. Early in 1959, it was sold to French enthusiast Maurice Villegas. A few years later, it had moved to the United States. In 1964, it was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it won second in class. It then changed hands several times but remained in California. In 1988, it was acquired by Richard and Marian Teague from Fallbrook, California. Sadly, the car was subsequently extensively damaged in the Gavilan (Fallbrook) wildfire in 2002. To Shaughnessy bought the remains and then sold them on to another California-based collector. He had the car meticulously restored by Wayne Obry's Motion Products. It has since been shown at a variety of events, winning its class at both Pebble Beach and Villa d'Este. In 2021, it was consigned to the Gooding Pebble Beach Auctions.
