Chassis:
Finished in silver with a French racing stripe, this 904 Carrera GTS was sold new to Jacques Dewez, who raced under the pseudonym 'Franc'. Chassis 904-041 was entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans where 'Franc' was joined by long-time co-driver Jean Kerguen. The two Frenchmen finished twelfth overall and first in the three-litre prototype category. It was then raced extensively for another year, making another appearance at Le Mans in 1965. It was then sold and re-appeared at the 1971 Tour de France, where it was raced by André Anselme and owner Henri Cachia. In 1978, it was sold to its current, German owner. He had the car carefully restored to its 1964 Le Mans class winning livery and configuration.
