Chassis:
German racing driver Bepp Mayer acquired this Ferrari 288 GTO new in 1985. Among the options fitted were air-conditioning, power windows and a radio. Mayer would own the car two years before selling it to a Swiss enthusiast. A decade later and with less than 7,000 km on the odometer, it joined the Petitjean Collection in France. Marcel Petitjean drove the car for a further 2,600 km before he placed the car on static display as centre piece of his collection. Along with the other Ferraris in the Petitjean Collection, it was subsequently consigned to the 2022 RM Sotheby's Paris sale.
