Believed to have been delivered new to the Philadelphia area, this is one of three known survivors of the Twelve Individual Custom Convertible Victoria. It passed through several hands before it was acquired in 1948 by Robert Wellcome from Westchester, New York. He would own the car for nine years before it passed to Ted Fuller who would retain it for a further 16 years. By the 1970s, the car was part of the collection of John Wheatley, who had it restored for the first time. It finished in a deep dark blue. Among the subsequent custodians were Jerry J. Moore, Dr. Joseph Murphy and Otis Chandler. The latter had at one point, three Individual Custom Convertible Victorias in his stable. Chandler sold the car on in 2002 and by 2006, it joined the collection of the late Frank Ricciardelli. He had the car restored again, this time by specialists Stone Barn Automobile Restorations. Once the work was completed, the rare Packard was shown at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it won best in class and was one of the nominees for the coveted best of show award. In 2022, it was consigned by the Frank Ricciardelli estate to headline the RM Sotheby's Amelia Island sale. With a final price of $4.1 million, it was the most expensive car of the auction.
