Chassis:
Shown at the 1952 Turin Motor Show, this is one of six 212 Inters fitted by Ghia with an aluminium body. Through the Milan-based Ferrari dealer Franco Cornacchia, it was sold to Franco Macchi. During the late 1950s, it moved to the United States. During the next decades, it was fitted with several different engines in lieu of the original V12. In 1989, it was owned by a long-term custodian from Akron, Ohio. It was shipped to Carrozzeria Autosport where it was restored during the 1990s. In 2012, it was submitted to another restoration at the hands of the same Italian artisans. At that time, chassis 0145E was re-united with its original engine. The car was shown at a select East Coast event and was then entrusted to MPI for a comprehensive mechanical restoration. Chassis 0145E was then shown at Pebble Beach in 2019. From a single ownership of over 30 years, it was consigned to the 2022 Bonhams Quail Lodge auction.
