The sixth of eight F300s built, this chassis was a spare car at the Monaco Grand Prix and was then first raced by Michael Schumacher in the Canadian Grand Prix. Starting third, he would go on to win the race. The German also raced the car in the next two rounds where he managed to convert a second on the grid in a victory on both occasions. Not used for the next four races, chassis 187 was back in action at the all-important Italian Grand Prix. Schumacher qualified the F300 on pole position and went on to win the race. After four Grand Prix starts with four victories, this F300 was not raced again. The undefeated Grand Prix car was retained by Ferrari until September of 1999 when it was sold to its first private owner with a plethora of spares. Still in as-raced condition, this unique and important ex-Schumacher Formula 1 racer was then consigned as one of the headliners of the 2022 RM Sotheby's Monterey auction.
