Equipped with air-conditioning and power windows, this 288 GTO was delivered to its first owner, Donald Schaff, by Lake Forest Sportscars. Schaff would use the car only sparingly in his eight years of ownership as it changed hands in 1993 with 3,388 km on the odometer. It changed hands twice in the next decade before entered a long-term, 22-year ownership in 2001. During this two-decade spell, the 288 GTO was regularly maintained but again used only occasionally. Having covered less than 8,000 km during its 37-year life, the Ferrari Classiche certified 288 GTO was entrusted to RM Sotheby’s to find its fifth owner at the 2023 Amelia Island auction.
