Chassis:
Through Hollywood Sports Cars in Los Angeles and Modern Classic Motors in Reno, this steel bodied 250 GT SWB was sold new to prominent American enthusiast Jack Nethercutt. It had been finished in February of 1961 with a red exterior and a black interior. Nethercutt would own the car for two years and it remained the United States well into the 1970s. Among the subsequent owners were David Piper and Jean Jacques Bailly, before it joined the stable of Jean Claude Tripier. He reunited the car with its original during the 1990s and it was eventually Ferrari Classiche certified in 2008. In 2011, it joined the Aurora Collection in Sweden. Along with the rest of the stable and without a reserve, it was consigned to the 2023 RM Sotheby’s Villa Erba auction.
