Chassis:
Acquired new by German enthusiast Albert Gwinner, this 904 was finished in metallic silver with a blue interior. Gwinner is understood to have only used the car on the road and never raced it. Eventually, 904-060 was sold to the United States, where it was part of the collections of noted Porsche collectors John Wean and Ernie Spada. In the latter’s ownership, it was comprehensively restored. Retaining its original, matching-number engine and transaxle, the 904 then joined a prominent Porsche collection in 1998. Offered for the first time in 25 years, the 904 was consigned to Gooding & Co. as a private treaty sale.
