Chassis:
Originally delivered to Lou Milone in the United States, this is one of just 51 Carrera RSR 3.8s built by the factory. It was entered in the 1994 IMSA Championship by the A.R.E. Team, competing in the final three rounds of the season with Richard Raimist behind the wheel. It was the start of an extensive competition career that would run into the 1998 season. One of the best results came at the 1996 Daytona 24 Hours when it finished sixth overall and second in class. After its final outing, at Road Atlanta in 1998, it was acquired by British collector. In the early 2010s, it passed to a French Porsche enthusiast, who had Raymond Narac’s IMSA Performance perform a complete restoration. Effectively in as-new condition and ready to hit the race track, it was consigned to headline the 2023 Artcurial Motorcars sur les Champs auction.
