Chassis:
The very last RSR 3.8 built, this example was one of just two finished as a Strassenversion with a complete, red leather interior. It had been commissioned by an important UK-based Porsche customer, who also ordered the silver sister car. Equipped with $28,800 worth of options, the two cars were not delivered until March of 1996, which was long after the production of the 964-generation 911 had come to an end. The Carrera RSR 3.8 was immediately into storage with the factory applied protective Cosmoline still on the body. Neither car was seen until 2015 when one was sold at auction and this one joined a very focused collection of all-white Porsches in Houston, Texas. It was subsequently serviced and since joining the collection has been regularly started and run to operating temperature. Still on its original tyres, it was consigned with the rest of the ‘White Collection’ to a dedicated December, 2023 RM Sotheby’s auction.
