Chassis:
The third R90CK built, this example was first raced at the Monza round of the 1990 World Championship. Starting eighth, Julian Bailey and Kenny Acheson finished seventh overall. The British pairing then used the car to finish third at Spa. Although not used to set the actual time, it replaced the practice car to start from pole position at Le Mans. It lead the race but eventually was forced to retire with transmission issues. Later in the year, chassis R90C/3 finished ninth at the Nürburgring and fourth at Donington. The following year, it was fielded in the Daytona 24 Hours for Arie Luyendyk, Julian Bailey and Derek Daly. They started third on the grid but relatively early in the race, mechanical issues brought an end to the charge. This would be the car’s final outing before it was retired to the Nissan Museum. In 2005, it was acquired from Nissan by Japanese racer Katsu Kubota. He then regularly raced it for several years before eventually selling it on to the current custodian in the early 2020s. Restored by Motohistorics, it returned to the race track in 2024.
