Chassis:
Produced in April of 1955, this 550 Spyder was sold new to Portuguese racer Fernando Mascarenhas. It was raced in several events before its 1955 season was curtailed by an accident in the Nürburgring 500 km. In 1958, it was acquired by Cypriano Flores, who continued to race the car in national events. During the 1980s, it passed to his son Caesar, who had the car restored by Porsche between 1992 and 1994. The car retained its matching number engine, gearbox and chassis. Since the restoration, the car has not been used and in 2024, it was consigned to the RM Sotheby’s Tegernsee auction.
