Chassis:
The very last Lola B98/10 produced, this example was fitted with a Judd V10 engine and acquired new by the French racing team DAMS. Liveried in striking Motorola colours, the car debuted with a pole position in the Monza round of the SportsRacing World Cup (SRWC). A gearbox issue late in the race saw French drivers Eric Bernard and Christophe Tinseau retire. The car suffered the same fate at the subsequent outings, which included the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the bugs ironed out, it was then driven to four wins in the SWRC late in the 1999 season. This made chassis B98/10 the most successful of the eight examples built and earned DAMS a works Cadillac deal for 2000. Not raced in 2000 and 2001, HU08 was pressed back in service from 2002 by new owner Bob Berridge. He fielded the car with limited success in Vaillant colours through to 2005 in select events. In 2006, it joined the long-term ownership of the late William H. Wonder. Under new ownership, it was restored to full running order by British specialists Moto Historics. In 2024, the Judd-engined Lola returned to the track to compete in the Peter Auto Endurance Racing Legends round at the Spa Classic. Early in 2025, it was offered for sale by Sam Hancock, still ready to go racing in the new season.
