Chassis:
Sold new to HRH Prince Bolkiah of Brunei, this 959 Komfort was one of just 31 finished in Graphite Mettallic. The exterior was complemented by a dark grey metallic leather interior, which also included electrically adjusted and heated seats, and an alarm system. The car remained in the extensive Brunei royal family collection until 2004, when it became one of very few cars to ‘escape’ the small kingdom. With 1,640 km on the odometer, it was acquired by Canadian collector Phil Richardson. Two years later, it joined the stable of Ken Lingenfelter. He had the car serviced and upgraded by marque specialists Canepa in Scotts Valley, California. Among the changes was an engine upgrade kit, boosting the power to 576 bhp, while a new mph odometer was also fitted. The car then changed hands twice before it was consigned to the 2025 Gooding Amelia Auctions. At the time of cataloguing, the new odometer read 826 miles.
