Chassis:
Sold through Shelton Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, this is one of around 90 F40s delivered to the United States during 1990. It was finished in red with a black interior. The originally owner only used the car sparingly, covering a mere 735 miles before he offered the car for sale in the summer of 1992. In December of that year, it joined the long-term ownership of a Southern California collector. Barely used, only 221 miles were added to the car’s tally in the next two decades. Following a brief sojourn in the United Arab Emirates, it returned to the United States in 2014. Chassis 86620 was subsequently Ferrari Classiche certified. During the process, it was established that the F40 retains its matching numbers engine and gearbox. The most recent custodian acquired the car in 2023 and then consigned it to the 2025 Broad Arrow Auctions The Amelia auction having covered just 1,248 miles.
