Chassis:
Completed early in 1966, this 906 was commissioned by Italian privateer Ermanno Spazzapan, who raced under the pseudonym “Mann”. He successfully campaigned the car in eight hill climbs during the 1966 season and also finished second in class in the Coppa Agip at Vallelunga. At the end of the season, it was sold to Spazzapan’s compatriot Ennio Bonomelli, who would go on to field the car for Antonio Zadra or “Khandaru” and Giuseppe Dalla Torre. The Carrera 6 remained competitive well into the 1968 season when they finished fourth overall and first in class during the Imola 500 km race. By the early 1970s, 906-115 was owned by noted Italian collector Corrado Cupellini. He sold it in 1977 to German Porsche enthusiast Bernd Becker, who would keep the car in his stable through to 2001. Becker regularly raced the car in historic events in Europe and South Africa. In 2001, the next custodian had the car comprehensively rebuilt while retaining the matching number engine and gearbox. Since then, it has changed hands several times and continued to be maintained to the highest standards. Having benefited from recent work by specialists Road Scholars in the United States, it was offered by RM Private Sales early in March of 2025.
