Chassis:
Completed in November of 1989, this F40 was presented to the newly signed Ferrari Formula 1 driver Alain Prost. Delivered as a Swiss market model, it was built without catalytic converters or adjustable suspension. The then three-time World Champion registered the F40 for the road in February of 1990. Within a few years, the car passed to Ferrari collector Graham de Zille through Graypaul Ferrari. Before the car changed hands, Prost signed the roof. By the late 1990s, it was sold on and then had several successive British owners until 2016. At that time, it was also Ferrari Classiche certified. It subsequently returned to French ownership and was part of the Ferrari 70th anniversary celebration in Maranello. Fastidiously maintained, it was consigned to the 2025 RM Sotheby’s Abu Dhabi sale with a mere 2,961 miles on the odometer.
