Chassis:
Commissioned through Crepaldi Automobili in Milan, this 275 GTB/4 was sold new to Luigi Mischi. It was finished in Rosso Rubino, with a beige leather interior with rare cord cloth seat insert. By early 1970, it was sold to the United States and through Roma Motors, it was acquired by Colonel Dale Smith. He regularly used the car until a camshaft failure prompted the Colonel to park the 275 GTB/4. The Ferrari remained in storage until it was sold by his estate in 1996 to Frederick Pesaturo. He had the engine repaired by former Lamborghini development driver Bob Wallace. The car was then recommissioned by Wallace together with F40 Motorsports. Shortly after the work was completed, it was once again placed into storage before it changed hands again in 2011. He showed the 275 GTB/4 at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in the Post War Preservation class. The next custodian brought the car back to Monterey Peninsula for the Quail, a Motorsports Gathering. Never fully restored, it was consigned a decade later to the 2026 RM Sotheby’s Cavailino Palm Beach sale with a mere 21,177 km on the odometer.
