Chassis:
Built ahead of the 1983 season, this improved CK5 was first raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Entered for Derick Warwick, Frank Jelinski and Patrick Gaillard, it started the race 14th on the grid but was forced to retire due to a head-gasket failure. It then continued to race with limited success in local German events but also in World Championship rounds at Spa and Brands Hatch. The best result for CK5-02 was a fourth place finish in the 1984 Nürburgring 300 with Kees Kroesemeijer at the helm. Last raced by the Kremer Racing team in April of 1985, it was retained by the Kremer brothers until the late 1980s. By that time, it had been painted dark blue and was used in a period magazine advertisement for the ‘Super Tronic’ fuel injection additive. Through this advertisement, it caught the eye of former Formula 1 team owner Walter Wolf, who acquired the car and had it re-finished in his signature livery. From Wolf, it was acquired by Freisinger Motorsport, who retained the car through to 2018. It was then acquired by a North American enthusiast. He had the beautifully preserved Group C car carefully returned to its 1983 Le Mans appearance. Shown at select events but never raced in historic events, it was consigned as one of the headliners of the 2026 Broad Arrow Auctions Porsche Air|Water sale.
