Chassis:
This Touring Spider was sold new to Switzerland early in 1938. It was subsequently sold to Tommy Lee in Los Angeles. In 1947 he briefly ran the car with the engine out of a Tipo B Grand Prix car he also owned. With the original engine refitted, Lee sold the car in 1949. Since then the car has only had very few owners and has survived in remarkably original condition. The current owner acquired chassis 412018 in the 1980s from Bill Sperri, who at the time also owned the Mille Miglia winning 8C 2900 MM. Beautifully preserved, this 8C 2900B is seen here during the 2005 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where Alfa Romeo was the featured marque.
