Chassis:
The ninth Ferrari 512 S off the line, chassis 1018 was sold new to German gentleman racer Georg Loos. From April 1970, the raced the car for two seasons, usually pairing with Helmut Kelleners and Franz Pesch. In only the car's second outing Kelleners and Loos secured a win in the Zolder 500 km. At Le Mans the two Germans' race ended early due to an accident. Over the winter the car was upgraded at the factory to 512 M specifications but it did not improve the car's results.
After the 1971 season came to a close with an accident in the Paris 1000 km at Monthlery, the car was sold to prominent French collector Pierre Bardinon. Chassis 1018 remained in the spectacular Mas du Clos collection for two decades. In 1991 it briefly passed through Japanese and American hands before entering a prominent Swiss collection. Since then the 512 M has been regularly exercised by the owner's son in a variety of events. At one of its most recent outings, it is seen here at the 2009 Modena Trackdays.
