Chassis:
Originally completed as a 512 S, chassis 1024 was not sold until April of 1971. By that time it had been converted to the latest 'M' specification. It was bought by Dr Alfredo Belponer for the Scuderia Brescia Corse team. The car was campaigned numerous times that time by one of Italy's leading amateur racers Marsilio Pasotti, who usually raced under the pseudonym 'Pam'. His best result was a victory in the Malegno-Borno hillclimb. The car was retired at the end of the year and sold to the United States a few years later.
Before the end of the 1970s, chassis 1024 returned to Europe and for much of the eighties and nineties, it was owned by Albert Uderzo of Asterix fame. By 1997 the car was back in the United States and soon after it passed into the hands of Florida based historic racer Ed Davies. He campaigned the car in the Ferrari Historic Challenge for a decade before offering it at RM Auctions' 2008 Ferrari - Leggenda e Passione sale. Never seriously crashed in period or historic events, changed hands for a hefty EUR2.090.000. The car's latest owner is seen here in action during the 2010 Le Mans Classic.
