Chassis:
This is the final carbon fibre chassis built for McLaren by Hercules. It was raced throughout the 1985 by Alain Prost on the way to the World Championship. The Frenchman used it to score three of his five victories that year. Chassis MP4/2B - 5 won at its debut during the season opener in Rio de Janeiro and at its final appearance finished third. Displayed for many years in the Donington Grand Prix Collection Museum, it was shown at the 2018 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on behalf of owner Gerhard Berger.
