Chassis:
This is the first of two Climax engined BT11s used by the Brabham Racing Organisation. From halfway through the 1964 season, it was raced by Jack Brabham but with no notable results. In fact he failed to finish on three occasions and was not classified when he did finish. Chassis F1-1-64 was campaigned throughout the next season when it proved a little more reliable in the hands of Brabham, Dan Gurney and Denny Hulme. The best result was a third for Brabham late at the USA Grand Prix late in the year. Today the car is owned by an American enthusiast who regularly campaigns the Brabham in historic event. He is seen here at Monaco and Goodwood. For the 2006 Goodwood Revival he handed the car to American racing legend Bobby Rahal, who had an exciting battle for the lead with a sister BT11.
