Chassis:
Completed in the spring of 1949, chassis 029S was fitted with a Coupe body built by Touring of Milan using their 'superleggera' principle. This particular design was known as the 'Aerlux' and incorporated some elements of the highly successful 166 MM racing cars. The Touring bodied 166 Inter was first sold to an Italian but quickly made it across the Atlantic. It remained there for nearly four decades before returning to Europe. The car is today owned by a Dutch collector and historic racer. He is seen here in action during the 2005 Tour Auto.
