Chassis:
Of the 23 340 Americas produced by Ferrari, just two were fitted with fixed-head bodies by Touring. Chassis 0122A was the first of these and it was sold new to Belgium where it was displayed at the Brussels Motor Show early in 1952. During the following years, it was used in local events with quite some success and it did not leave Belgium until early 1971. It was eventually sold to Dutch collector Paul F. Schouwenburg, who meticulously restored the car, changing the interior from brown to green. Schouwenburg regularly used the car before selling it to another noted Ferrari enthusiast, Giuseppe Lucchini, who would own the car from 1986 through to 2010. He had specialist Dino Cognolato of Padua restore the car once more, finishing the Touring Berlinetta in red over a black interior. Following the restoration, it was campaigned by Lucchini in events like the Mille Miglia retrospective. Following the lengthy Italian ownership, it was sold to the UK and re-finished in black by DK Engineering. Shortly thereafter, chassis 0122A was entered in the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed 'Cartier Style et Luxe' concours d'elegance where it was named 'best of show'. Chassis 0122A then joined a European collection and continued to be used regularly and was also Ferrari Classiche certified. During the process, it was confirmed the car retains its original chassis, body and matching numbers engine. In 2024, it was consigned to headline the Bonhams Zoute Sale.
