The third of five Lotus 91s produced, chassis 8 was used by Elio de Angelis in the second half of the 1982 season. He debuted the car at the British Grand Prix with a fourth place finish. The talented Italian would use 91/8 to score the type's only Grand Prix victory at the high-speed Osterreichring two rounds later. Never converted to later specifications, this Lotus 91 has been retained by Lotus and is now regularly fielded by Classic Team Lotus.
