Chassis:
Originally constructed as chassis '289', this is the second of two XJR-11s built in 1989. In 1990 it was rebuilt as chassis '590' and scored back-to-back second place finishes at the Silverstone and Spa rounds of the World Championship in the hands of Jan Lammers and Andy Wallace. During its final outings in 1990, the car was badged '1290'. Now labelled 590 again, the car served as a T-car for the factory backed Suntec effort in the 1991 All Japan Sportscar-Prototype Championship. Retained by TWR following its contemporary racing career, chassis 590 was sold towards the end of the 1990s to Paul Spires. He campaigned the car in several historic Group C events. It was subsequently owned and raced by marque specialists Don Law Racing and JD Classics.
