 Mach is wonderful...

I have had my Mach now for 4 months and have put 3,000 miles on her. It is an excellent car that continues to amaze me. One nice thing is it is faster than almost all the other Mustangs including 01 Cobras!

The Mustang Mach 1 is an awesome car. I got to test drive it, and when it starts up, the whole car rumbles and you can tell it has a good amount of power. Ford did a great job on this car. The red looks especially nice. When this car gets moving, it roars.

"I agree that the mustang will never be over taken by these trendy new ""Fast and the Furious"" rice rockets, but I do believe your being a little too hard on it. The drivetrain for example is actually quite modern. Modular engines weren't installed in mustangs untill 1996, and since then they have undergone some major improvements. The transmission is vastly different from the '79 model. It, for example, used a four speed. In 1983, the Borg-Warner T-5 five speed was introduced and endured abuse from enthusiasts untill 1996 when the T45 came in. 2002 saw the wonderful tremec 3650 and the '03 Cobras even have a T56 six speed. Sorry if all this techno mumbo jumbo annoys anyone, but I'm a perfectionist who happens to race mustangs. (sanctioned of course) I personally own a street legal '94 GT that I've rebuilt the majority of for racing, and my father owns an upgraded '99 Cobra. Major improvements to mine include a supercharged 331 stroker, a Tremec TKO-II and upwards of 4 grand in the suspension. I can't wait to see what the next gen mustang has from the factory. Great job Ford"

The new Mach 1 Mustang is one awesome car marketed right between the Cobra and GT. The car has a 4.6L 32v Cobra motor with a solid rear axle. The styling is extremely mean and brings back reminiscents of the 60's muscle cars. I'm tired of people complaining about the outdated look. It's not outdated in my opinion. This car was tested by Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords and ran a 13.1 @ 106. These are great times for a naturally aspirated motor. Put a gear and slicks on it, and it will be in the mid to low 12's. I hope Ford makes more than 6,000 of them so that I can add this car to my stable. Great Job Ford!!!!!
 It's getting real close though...

"The Mustang of today is a truly outdated beats, with only maybe the performance, the price and the heritage keeping buyers comign again and again. But lets be fiar, the cabin is made out of plastic that would not be out of place in an 80's spec Hyundai, the chassis falls to bits when pushed hard, and the styling, while still muscular, is geting on, and looking dated. Maybe the proposed ""retro"" new mustang will rectify my last points, i darn well hope so."""
Simply the best american muscle car!

With a powertrain dating back to '79, and an interior design from '94, this car is becoming a little bit out-dated by lighter and less expensive cars such as the Mitsubishi Eclipse or the Toyota Celica. But though the forign rice rockets are becoming more and more popular, will it ever overtake the the Mustang? No! This car, in America at least, carries with it a heritage that can never be taken away. Though the mustle car class seems to be spiralling down, and General Motors has given the class over to Ford for a temporary time (unless you consider the Monte Carlo a muscle car), the Mustang will never be taken over by any car with a four or six under the hood. America's own Mustang is here to stay!

"I thought it looks decent. The design is getting older though, but I thought it not close enought to classify as ""ugly"" """

A great car as a stand alone muscle car, but from a designers point of view, a disaster. Cant under stand why Ford did miss this oportunity and didn't made a great muscle car also in design terms, this car shall be elegant, raw and sexy, this is a museums piece. Ugly are my verdict, make a new one Ford for 2004 and elegant.
