 why no lp500

well, the simple reason is taht there was only ever ONE lp500 made which was the show car with the experimental 5 litre engine of theirs. it had, as i asid, a experimental engine, one of which blew up in testing, and a chassis that is vastly different to the actual production car which was the lp400. what you're talking about, is the lp5000. and well, more to the point, it isn't a case of the 5000 selling more than the older models. it's more like they made more of the 5000 models.
 Countach still a show-stopper

"VT: I agree, the Quattrovalvole is probably my favourite, too, but I must confess a fondness for the unchanged lines of the original. Still, I have always had a softspot, always had a fondness of the ""flying vacuum cleaner"" in all it's shapes, and it'll still stop a little traffic, here and there. And you can spot the cargeeks by sifting between ""That's a Lamborghini!"", and ""That's a Lamborghini Countach LP, wow!"""
 Lp500 series?

i dont know why the LP500 series isnt listed here, seeing it far outsold the 400. Anyway truely a turning point for lamborghini, with this design having elements which are visible in the Murcielago (probably more than the diablo actually) this design was quite ahead of its time, it does look quite dated now, but my faviourite countach, the LP500 Quatro Valve does look quite alot better, ive seen one modernised in the mall (a racing one) and everyone thought it was a diablo, of course they knew nothing about cars really but it goes to show that a car originally designed in the 80's can pass off as such a modern super car to the untrained eye. The Lp500 25th anniversary out sold it, but the quatro valve had an impressive 0-60 time of 4.9 secs, which is quite a leap from the original 5.9 of the LP400s and the 5.6 of the LP500s...but ofcourse that wasnt the only improovement... The 500 series performed all round better than the 400, and the 500qv and 25th anniv were better again... quite a great car and really one of the first true super cars, and only truely surpassed by the f40 in my opinion.
