You are correct in saying that hydrogen power is years away, they estimate it will take around ten years in order to make hydrogen power acceptable for the public. The main problem is they arent able to produce enough power efficently. However I would have to disagree with you second statement because when the technology is finally developed the only result of a hydrogen car will be water and air. It is a simple chemistry equation hygrogen which is H2 would go thru a chemical reaction and would combine to make H2O. This is why hydrogen is being pushed so hard because it would practically eliminate pollutants and hydrogen which can be an excellent source of power could have the potential to make a very powerful, efficent and pollutant free fuel.

As much as I enjoy seeing companies trying to "save" the planet with hydrogen, the average consumer still does not know that this technology is still miles away, not to mention the fact that the way we produce usable hydrogen fuel polutes the air in much the same way that the production of gasoline does.

The fact is that the technology is out there, and one day we may use it, just DON'T hold your breath.
