| My Dad Helped Build this car |
| Norfolk_Boy 13-10-2003 |
back in 1997 my dad landed a job with Lotus Racing and was involved in the building on the Elise GT1 not only helping to build it the team had very little money so my dad was also the fueling man in the pits and has about 200 photos of this car at all the tracks during the season (including le-ans) i also have a pile of photo's of the road car (when it was still black) sitting in the Lotus workshop if anyone is interested. |
| i saw it |

The owner of the only road going gt1 is actually a friend of a friend and the other day we went round to his house to see it and the pictures do not do it justice, in the flesh it is so much more impressive. He said that he is currently doing a lot of working on it and hopefully will be able to get 264mph out of it - going for the record. Any way thanks to G.M. for letting us see it and starting it up - sound impressive as well. |

thay made a total of 7 elise GT1s for le man, and only one was a road-going version... on a recent visit to leeds castle, i noticed a strangly familiar but slightly unusual shape on one of the roads. this strange shape turned out to be the ONE road-going car!!! took a few pics. just got to figure out how to upload them onto here if i can... |
| Blow away the F1 |
| Yoke Peter 2-3-2003 |
This car would probably blow away the F1 in every respect except outright performance. The F1 is about 65km/h faster and makes 0-100 in 3.3 seconds, from memory. However, lotus' reputation for handling and race breeding would probably give this car a huge advantage in handling and grip, and having brakes and tyres which are ten years younger will naturally put it ahead of the Macca. Even though the acceleration and top speed are slightly down on the F1, I bet it could still snap your neck and make you black out. |
| Elise on some serious Steroids! |
| AntiDomestic 14-1-2003 |
This looks like an Elise on steroids but not like that's a bad thing. That's a very good thing now if only Lotus turned this beauty into a production car, that would totally rock! Atleast a limited quantity production like the Mclaren F1,I mean this beauty is barely over 2000lbs and if they gave it about 600 or so bhp there's no doubt in my mind that this could compete with the F1. |

Another blasting Elise ! I love race cars , O love the Elise...But I can't buy one...Life is so sad... |
| Does anybody else love this car? |
| Unknown 26-6-2002 |
I love the Elise-derived front and the backward-facing scoops, the split rear windshield (like a McLaren)because of the ceiling airscoop, as well as the spoiler. Did I mention the rear-view mirrors. This is a triumph in design, certainly better than the Lotus ML250. Thank you. |
