| Cannot Compare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| blmcl 6-5-2003 |
"Both the McLaren F1 road car and the McLaren M8B Can-Am car are truly great, immortal cars. However, one cannot really compare them as they ar seperated by three decades of technological evolution. Each car must be appreciated according to the period in which it was created. The M8B is one of the most stylish and successful racecars of all time. I saw the team cars in person and they were unbelievably impressive as were Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme. I would recommend joining the McLaren Trust at www.bruce-mclaren.com. The F1 roadcar is the brainchild of artist-engineer Gordon Murray and combines the best of technology with a true sense of style, something very unusual in today's cars (compare with the latest and most ghastly Ferrari, the Enzo). I especially love the limited edition orange F1GTR, build to commemorate the McLaren Can-Am cars. So, when one thinks of these cars, one is the ""stratosphere"" of automotive achievement, and any comparisons are ill-founded!!!" |
