| Monaco 84 |
| HoldenV8 09-07-2012 |
By all reports from Monaco 1984, Senna's Toleman TG184 actually broke its front suspension soon after passing Prost's McLaren so Senna was really the lucky one as he would have been lucky to last another 5 laps. If Ickx hadn't shown the red flag then Prost would most likely have won anyway. Ickx put the flag out without checking with the other stewards first, something that actually got him suspended as Monaco clerk of course. There were rumors that Ickx, a Porsche employee in sports car racing, stopped the race so the TAG-Porsche engined McLaren would win... |

How's this scenario : Jackie Ickx doesn't stop the Monaco GP early, Senna passes Prost, Prost collects his 6 points (instead of the 4.5 for a shortened win). Voila! Alain wins his first WDC! |
