| E Type GP1 engine |
| Neilhrd 07-18-2010 |
Does anybody know what happened to the development engine of 2 litres or 2.2 litres mentioned in the article? Presumably it was not fitted to the car when it was burned out as that was during a voiturette race for 1.5 litre cars. If so did it pass to Leslie Johnson and the Dunstable incarnation of ERA post war? If so was this engine intended to be fitted to the G Type for use in formula 1 before that was canned at the end of the 1951 season and the G Type fitted with a modified Bristol engine for Formula 2 in 1952. |
