I gonna go ahead and disagree... |

Sorry Henk, but I just don't see it, and keep in mind I'm not attempting to denigrate the Aston by comparing it to NSU's little fastback, as I quite like both cars. It's just interesting to me to see the similarities, especially at the rear where the purportions are almost identical. The front obviouslt looses a little resemblence because the Aston is front engined, and has its traditional grille, but even there, the wing line is quite close. I can see some resemblence to the Vignale 507, but not a lot. That too though is a great looking car. |
BMW Vignale, |

Rather than the NSU Prinz, this car looks more like the Michelotti designed Vignale version of the BMW 507, a one-off that Vignale hoped (in vain of-course) would replace the original Graf Goertz shape. Especially from behind the Aston's similarity with the BMW is striking. That both the cars are painted red, also helps a lot. |
Not a bad looking car... |

... and I certainly wouldn't mind opening the garage to find it there every morning. It is after all a pretty, coach-built Aston with what I think is the best engine they ever sported. However, does it not look from many angles (especially the rear) like a giant-sized NSU Sport-Prinz? Just thought I'd point that out... |
