| 8V Zagato |
| antonvrs 09-13-2009 |
This car is quite lovely although I don't believe it did much competition work in period and I'd be afraid to stand next to an 8V motor developing that kind of power. I know of at least 4 8V motors with the 8-port heads and 36IF4C carbs. This car, chassis 026, Berlinetta Speciale Corsa chassis 032 and 304, and the Siata "Mexico" coupe chassis BS537. There are a pair of the 8-port heads in very rough condition floating around out there somewhere and Fiat cast a number of blocks with provision to mount the 8-port heads. There is no evidence that Fiat or Siata ever mounted "an extra carburettor" on the 8V. Anton the carmudgeon |

Fifty years down the road, the design still is sweeter than its 21st century imitators. Genius! |
