I really think that the 'Mk1' (74-77, 265bhp, 156mph, 3.0Litre, 'Whale Tail') and 'Mk2' (78-89, 300bhp, 162mph, 3.3Litre, Intercooled, 'Tea Tray') 930s deserve separate pages and what about the 170mph, 330bhp Limited Edition and 1989 380bhp 930S cars? Porsche's stated acceleration times are notoriously conservation. Porsche state the 0-62mph time of my 1979 930 at 5.4 seconds using a G-Tech Competition Pro, I recorded a time of 0-60 time of 4.85 seconds and a 0-100 of 11.5 seconds (but my gearbox is due for a rebuild and I hope to do far better when I can change gear quickly) so youll have to forgive me if I treat every other stated time on your site with due suspicion. I suppose I must be something of a rarity for contributors on this site, not only having a driving license but owning the car in question. (Jeez, you can pick up a 20-year-old 911 turbo for as little as 10,000 beats the hell out of a kitted-up Nova/Honda Civic Type-R/Subaru Impreza, I can tell you! - I'm suprised more people don't stop buying these pretend cars and get a 'proper sportscar' instead : )

The 911 Turbo is one of the most legendary sports cars ever made. Somewhere in Stutgart those Germans have a magic elixir they pour into the mold where these things are being made or something! An old school air cooled Turbo is high on my list of Exotic cars I want to own. On a side note to Motorhead... I want to be a cop in Singapore, I mean you get PAID to chase 930s in BMW M3s on public roads? That sounds like something either illegal or like something you'd do at a very expensive driving school!
 what a chase!!!!!!

I was waiting for my mum to bring the car near the shopping centre to pick me up when I saw the most incredible thing anyone has ever seen. A BMW(E38)M3 police car chasing the 930. I had the best view of the chase. the 930 was going at about 150km/h and it was swerving through traffic. The M3 was not far off but the M3 stopped and let the 930 get away. Maybe the police man thought it was too dangerous to carry on with the chase. Now the whole point of the story is about the handling of the 930. This happened in Singapore and where in Singapore can you speed but the porsche was good and this shows how good that bloody thing is!!!
